Her style is inspired by the vocals of UK underground music. Having learnt how to sing by imitating garage & grime vocals plucked from 90’s R&B, just lil found her voice and developed an intricate approach that re-contextualises the practice of sampling within more traditional songwriting structures to create a sound that feels both nostalgic and strikingly fresh.
